Along with the auction house is what this system calls the "vault", think of it as an extended backpack you don\'t have to carry around. It\'s nice to be able to put things in there that you won\'t be needing for awhile, just don\'t forget about them. You probably won\'t get to your vault too fast though, you start out with a full belt of pouches in this game. That\'s right, a nice large amount of storage from the get go, that was absolutely wonderful. Then again, with how many quests this game gives you, you\'re going to be needing all that space sooner or later for quest items.
Sometimes quest items won\'t go in your backpack or pouches though, they are a new thing altogether. These quests, which I really liked the idea of, forced your avatar to actually carry something, meaning he couldn\'t fight or anything. Most quests just plop the item into your backpack, but being forced to carry something is just neat. These types of quests will have you on a timer though, so you can\'t be fascinated by that bucket of water you\'re carrying for too long, unless you just go get the quest again. These sorts of quests always involve you avoiding something or someone though, meaning you get to get creative with how you\'re going to get it to where it needs to go. This often means going off the beaten path and hoping that bear doesn\'t see you.
The game does like it when you group up, that\'s how you\'ll access some of your abilities, because they are only usable when you are in a group, or "fellowship". The game doesn\'t force you into a fellowship by any means, but it\'s always safer to be in one. I mean, who knows what is out for your blood? Only experience will tell, I was never able to find a way to distinguish between what wanted my blood when I walked by to what wouldn\'t. Yet another one of the good and bad things about this game.
A big thing LotRO brought to the table was the fact that you don\'t get to be evil from the get go, you have to earn it in a way. You\'ll do this by getting a few levels under your belt and visiting pools around the world, in cities. What these pools do is unlock monsters that you can play. I won\'t deal too much with this since I\'m sure anyone who\'s looked into the game at all knows that monsters play very much differently than your normal character. They start up at the higher levels and you need to do monster quests and kill player characters to get things called destiny points. You use the points to upgrade your monster. Sadly though, they are constrained to only a small portion of the world.
